A lot has happened since the first Swisstrain left our terminal in Frenkendorf with direction Rotterdam on 3 October 2016.

The idea to establish a new transport product was quickly materialized. However, the first twelve months since we started operating our train felt somewhat like a long and hard delivery, because business was anything but usual. The closed Rhine valley rail corridor was just the tip of the iceberg in that respect.

Nevertheless, we managed to cope with these challenges. And more than that, we used the past year to constantly improve our transport solutions and implement new connections. Via our new hub Neuss, we now also call at the port of Antwerp in addition to the port of Rotterdam. And at the beginning of November 2017, we replaced our previous location in greater Zurich Rekingen with Niederglatt to correspond to an increasing demand in this important economic area. The first export train will leave Niederglatt on 11 December 2011 (read more here).

This was more than enough reason to celebrate the birthday of the Swisstrain in due style and at the same time thank our customers, business partners and friends for their support and trust in our services. A very hearty thank you goes to our partner BLS Cargo, who gave us a truly outstanding present with a bespoke print for the engine of our Swisstrain.

We were delighted to see guests from near and far at our premises in Frenkendorf. It was fantastic to get together and enjoy musical and magical highlights. We were enchanted by the magician Magrée, and the band Female Vibes made sure we got into party mood.
